The Altmühltal – pearl of Bavaria

The Naturpark Altmühltal (southern Frankenalb) is the largest among the 85 natural parks in Germany. In the south of the new Franconian Lake District, it encompasses a varied landscape in the middle of Bavaria, between the urban areas of Nuremberg-Fürth-Erlangen, Ingolstadt, Augsburg and Regensburg. Nature and art, culture and history, leisure activities are a great variety.

The many hidden beauties of the Altmühltal Nature Park are not open to you “in advance”. Hiking and biking and boating are means of transportation appropriate to the recreation and harmonious cultural landscape at Altmühl. The car can therefore remain quiet – at home or at least at the holiday quarters. The nature park offers many possibilities to make holidays from the car, still to remain mobile and to discover the many sights of nature and culture in peace and to enjoy.
